Appreciating the Everyday Impact
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving always feels like a rare pause in the year, a moment to step back and appreciate the good around us. Today, I wanted to use that pause to share some gratitude for the small businesses and nonprofits I’ve worked with. Their impact, resilience, and heart are a huge part of why I love the work I do.
I’ll be the first to say that running a small business in 2025 isn’t easy. And for nonprofits addressing issues like poverty, food insecurity, housing instability, environmental justice, or education access, the challenges can feel even heavier. But despite everything working against them, the people behind these missions show up with a level of creativity and determination that inspires me every day.
My background in digital marketing began because I cared deeply about social justice but didn’t yet know how to contribute in a sustainable way. Stepping into this field showed me that amplifying important work is a form of impact. When I supported WNET’s Chasing the Dream initiative (focused on poverty and opportunity in America) I spent hours studying their stories to understand the communities affected. It gave me a deeper understanding of the issues, but more importantly, it showed me the dedication of the teams doing the work. That same passion has been present in every mission-driven client I’ve supported over the years.
One thing I’ve learned is just how transformative social media can be for these teams. In a world where most people get their information online, having a digital presence isn’t optional, it’s essential. Social media allows missions to travel farther than an annual report or a local event ever could. It helps share lived experiences, mobilize support during urgent moments, amplify voices that often go unheard, and break down complex issues into accessible stories. A single post can raise awareness about homelessness in a specific neighborhood, highlight the barriers faced by undocumented families, or spark donations for an emergency food program. With the right strategy, CTAs, and storytelling, social platforms become a powerful extension of a nonprofit’s work, not just a marketing tool, but a lifeline.
As we head into the holiday season, I’m genuinely grateful for every client who trusts me with their voice and vision. Thank you for letting me help tell your stories, elevate your missions, and be a small part of your impact. Your passion reminds me why I love this work and why I’ll always believe in the power of digital storytelling.
Wishing you a warm, restful, and very meaningful Thanksgiving. If you’re looking to strengthen your online presence or share your mission more effectively in the new year, Flora 360 is here to help!
